The ˻ֱ (UCM) Gallery of Art and Design will host a summer
exhibition, “Communication: The Annual Exhibition of Mid-Missouri Artists Inc.,” from
July 9 to Aug. 6 in the UCM Art Center.
Mid-Missouri Artists Inc. (MMA) is a regional arts organization that supports artists
and promotes the arts. The members meet regularly to discuss art and the business
of being an artist. They also exhibit together at least twice yearly, including the
annual summer exhibition at the UCM Gallery of Art and Design. This year's exhibition
theme is "Communication” with each artist interpreting the theme through a wide range
of media, including painting, drawing, photography, mixed media and sculpture. “Communication”
will be in the Main Gallery.
The public is invited to a reception celebrating the summer exhibition from 5 to 7:30
p.m. Wednesday, July 16, in the Art Center. The New Century Dulcimer Ensemble will
play during the reception, and refreshments will be served.
The UCM Gallery of Art and Design is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Admission is free and open to the public.
